QJFL has new look this season

The Quebec Junior Football League (QJFL) is in its 33 rd year of operation and this year our teams will be playing a nine game schedule.

This season, we will be operating with only four teams as the ST. LAZARE STALLIONS have suspended operations of their Junior Program due to a number of reasons beyond their control. Also, after losing their coaching staff and a number of players, there was insufficient time to recruit new personnel.

The St. Lazare Stallions joined the QJFL in 2008 and have been a tremendous competitor over the years while building their program and making the playoffs this past season. They also hosted the QJFL Board Meetings at their local community centre for which we are much appreciative.

On behalf of the QJFL Executive and Governors I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ST LAZARE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, its President Anson Williams who was the driving force and founder of their Junior Program, their Executives, Coaches and volunteers for providing a tremendous football program for the young men of the community and surrounding areas.

We wish the St. Lazare Football Association and its Minor Program much success in the coming years and look forward to the day when they may find a way to reinstate their Junior Program in the QJFL.

Don Stark
President QJFL
