Quiet times for spring football??

Hello to all you football nuts, I hope you are enjoying the season. Whether you are following the CFL, the unpredictable NFL, NCAA or CIS football this is the best time of the year. For The TNT Express, which is a spring and summer based club, the executive is still busy with some initiatives for the 2011 season. We have several of our coaches helping out with the Banting High school program, in a relationship that has been around for 7 years and 3 GBSSA championships. In addition we will be having our first coaches committee meeting in late November. This committee is designed to provide coaches input into the management and operation of the club on a wide range of topics from practice equipment to uniforms to offences and defences. We feel that our single largest asset is our coaching staff and we want to get their feedback on all things football to make our club better. We also have coaches involved in our fall skills program which is geared to our younger Tyke, Atom and Peewee players. The idea of this camp is to teach skills as well as provide an introduction to the basic concepts of the game. This serves as a recruiting tool to get younger players involved.
The other big project we have going is a proposed expansion into the Barrie / Orillia area. This will be a very exciting time for us to grow the club but it also entails tons of work. We will be reaching out to local coaches and volunteers, looking to secure practice and game fields, budgeting for new equipment, and creating all the infrastructure that is needed to properly support teams on the field. This process has already started at the first step with local advertising seeking coaching help. As we put coaching staffs into place at the various levels we will start to recruit players and purchase equipment. I just hope I get some free time for Christmas shopping.
Enjoy the rest of the season and whatever playoffs you are following.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
