Rams convenient option for local recruit (VIDEO)

Regina defensive back opts to stay home, signs with local CIS team.

Polis Koko had opted to stay in his own backyard.

Recently, the 5ā€™9, 160 pound defensive back signed with University of Regina Rams.Ā  The native of Regina, Saskatchewan will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

ā€œI committed to Regina because it was the easiest option for me and my family,ā€ explained Koko of his decision.Ā  ā€œAnother big factor was that my high school coach [Sheldon Gray] will now be the new DB Coach for Regina and having him coach will make my transition to the next level a lot easier.ā€

Koko guided the LeBoldus Golden Suns of the Regina Intercollegiate Football League (RIFL) to their third consecutive Provincial 4A Championship.Ā  During his time there, he has been selected as a RIFL 4A Schwann Conference All-Star as well as Golden Suns Special Teamsā€™ Player of the Year.
