Ravens land Pickering recruit (VIDEO)

Pickering defensive back newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

While Monday may have been a holiday for some, the Carleton Ravens continued their relentless work on their 2015 recruiting class.

However, the team has reaped the benefits of their hard work.

Yesterday, the Ravens announced the signing of Treshaun Webster to their football program.  The 5’11, 177 pound defensive back from Pickering, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

“Treshaun is a great pick-up for us at Carleton as he fits our defensive back mold of fast physical players,” commented Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah.  “We are excited he wants to be a part of the ravens for 2015 and with his big game experience playing for Team Ontario this will only help him in his development.”

This past season, Webster played for Pickering Trojans of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA) where he caught five interceptions, has eight pass breakups, scored eight touchdowns, racked up three forced fumbles and amassed more than 15 tackles.

Additionally, the defensive back suited up for the Ajax-Pickering Dolphins of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Ultimately, Webster chose the Ottawa, Ontario campus because of academics as well as the strength of the football program.   Moreover, his bond with the team played a role in his decision.

“The reason why I chose Carleton was because it was a school that just suited me best,” explained Webster of his decision.  “I chose to come there because I had an authentic relationship with the coaches and the other players.”

“I also chose to go to Carleton was because the program really spoke to my athleticism and was the school that can utilize my skills the best way. Another factor that made me choose Carleton was the academics and I’m really interested in criminology physiology and that school had my program also so it would open doors for me in the work force.”
