Justice Allin has been battling on the gridiron in Etobicoke for five years (three years with the Etobicoke Eagles and five years with the ECI Rams). His stats over the past couple seasons have been impressive, to say the least. During the 2016 OVFL season, he had 1,029 rushing yards, 152 receiving yards, nine rushing touchdowns, two kick return touchdowns and will be one of the OVFLā€™s 2017 All-Star selections. For his high school team, he amassed 10 touchdowns in nine games in the 2015 season and his team was City Champions. During the 2016 high school campaign, he accumulated 11 touchdowns in nine games and his team was City and OFSSA (Northern Bowl) Champions.

There are several aspects of his position that he thoroughly enjoys.

ā€œWhat I like about playing running back is that I know whether I am getting the ball or not,ā€ he says. ā€œIt also helps develop stronger relationships with the team, especially with the quarterback and the offensive line. It is a ā€œyou scratch my back Iā€™ll scratch yoursā€ relationship. Finally, it was the first position I ever played in football and it just gives me an opportunity to put my athletic ability and skills on display.ā€

There is a particular NFL running back that he tries to emulate.

ā€œI like to think that I model my playing style after my favourite running back, Le’Veon Bell,ā€ Justice says. ā€œI model myself after him because he is an electric player who can change a game on any play, and he can do it by juking, trucking or catching a pass. His versatility makes him dangerous.ā€

Justice has a few pre-game rituals that he tries to abide by such as his pre-game meal ofĀ ā€œmomā€™s spaghetti and meat sauce, with some vegetables and fruit for dessertā€.Ā He also has a pre-game playlist that he listens to before games. ā€œI have a custom playlist with over 136 songs, ranging from hip hop, country and techno,ā€ he says. ā€œSome of the artists include Travi$ Scott, Ro Ransom, Tech N9ne, Future, Aerosmith, Kid Ink and Lil Uzi.ā€

As for the recruitment process, it first began during the summer of Grade 10 when he ā€œwas first scouted by McMaster University.ā€ It was a thorough procedure and he weighed all his options, which resulted in his commitment to McMaster for 2017.

ā€œI committed to McMaster because of the amazing coaching staff, and the campus is beautiful and close to home,ā€ he says. ā€œBut it has a real sense of family. That is what made me commit to McMaster.ā€

His ā€œcoaches, friends and teachersā€ have been important facets of his life. ā€œThey have all sacrificed their time and energy to help me achieve my goals and have helped me get to where I want to be now,ā€ Justice says. ā€œBut the number one most influential person has to be my mother. Raising two kids as a single mother is probably one of the biggest challenges she has ever been faced with, but she does an outstanding job because she is always there for me. Whether I need money for football equipment, need help repairing my body or if I just need someone to talk to, she is always there and I love her for that!ā€

Justice has a game plan for the off-season.

ā€œI will definitely hit the gym a lot,ā€ he says. I will try and gain as much muscle mass I can so that I can prepare my body for the wear and tear it will have to endure come September. In addition to that, I will work on my speed and footwork to match the speed at the next level.ā€

Football holds a great deal of significance to him, as it has given him the tools to succeed in life.

ā€œOver the years that Iā€™ve played the sport I have fallen in love with it and earned a greater respect for the game,ā€ Justice says. ā€œIt may just be a game to some but to me, it is much more. It has guided me down the right path in life, where at many times I could have chosen the wrong path. It has taught me valuable life lessons, such as teamwork, leadership and respect, but it has also given me the opportunity to be the first one in my family to attend university. Without the game of football, Iā€™m not sure where I would be in life right now.ā€

Justice is well-prepared for university football and expects the transition to be seamless.

ā€œI think it will be an easy and smooth adjustment for me, as I know many of the players and coaches,ā€ he says. ā€œI am also familiar with the campus and I guess coming in as a highly-recruited athlete doesnā€™t hurt either!ā€

For the future, his mind is focused on football and education.

ā€œI aspire to play in the CFL, but before that, Iā€™d like to finish university and graduate with a degree and hopefully be one of the most dangerous players in U Sports,ā€ Justice says.
