It is the start of another important season for the Polyvalente Deux-Montagnes Centurions running back, Carl Chabot.

Carl has been playing for 12 years, starting out with the Moustique Jaguar of Blainville.  In his first season, the standout won the Team MVP honours.

Soon after, he joined the Centurions, and played two years at the benjamin level as well as one year at cadet and an additional one at the juvenile level. He referred to his first few years as his teaching years.  However, in his first year in cadet, he won another MVP Team Award and has been nominated since.

Throughout his career and in life, the Centurions running back has has a few individuals that he looks up to.

“My inspiration is probably my father and other people in my family and my idol is Anthony Thomas,” says Carl.

His goal is to become a veterinarian, but said that if the chance to play professional came up it would be a choice he would have to consider.

As for the recruitment process, he does not have a school preference yet.

“I will make the best decision possible for my future,” says Carl.

At this point, Carl trains four to five times per week at Rousseau Sports Gym, and he hopes that this season he can do what he can to help his team reach the top.

“For training I will be sharp and do my maximum,” adds the Centurions running back.  “Football pushes me to my limit.”

When it comes to the sport, it has taught him what real team spirit is as gives him the motivation to push even more. Carl sees the sport as something that has brought only positives to his life like “speed, agility and force,” as well as lifelong friendships.

Carl offers advice to other players looking to succeed in the sport.

“Never give up at school; it is the most important factor in going to a higher level in football,” says Carl.  “Stay sharp in gym!”

“And always push your limit to the maximum.”
