RB Seth Labidiuk thankful for lessons football has taught him

Football has helped to create many lifelong friendships for Seth Labidiuk, and he’s thankful that he gets to create these types of bonds with his teammates. As a running back, Seth knows the importance or blocking and teamwork, and he’s quick to apply those traits to his everyday life.

“I joined football when I was 13 years old. I wanted to join a team sport, so I tried football and loved it. I’ve built many friendships along the way. This sport has made me a better person.”

People often take for granted the life values that team sports can bring to your life, but it’s clear that Seth understands what he’s being taught and continues to apply it with his friends and family.

When Seth isn’t playing football, he loves to be outdoors, and that includes anything like fishing, camping, wake boarding and snowboarding.

Many memories on the field stick out for Seth, but there were two individual ones that take the top spot for him.

“In my high school season, I ran 108 yards for a touchdown!! A close second was when I was chosen to represent Team AB U16 and was able to train in Maui with a group of guys that I never met. That was a very cool experience.”

Seth is aware of the help that his family has given him, but he wants his coaches to know the impact that they’ve had on his success.

“Coach Kevin Dixon for believing in me, teaching me and giving me the confidence that I could be the best running back I could be. Coach John Belmont and Coach Chase Hart tied in second. These two coaches have taught me how to perform at the top of my game. They have got to know me as not only a player but as a person. Off field I help them move, I work on Coach Belmonts farm and have connected with both their family members.”

Seth is confident in his leadership abilities and knows how important that is to the overall success of his team.

“I’m a leader on and off the field. Every teammate I play with will come to me for encouragement, advise or a kick in the butt.”

Seth is already looking forward to the upcoming season, where he’s going to focus on learning new plays and playing with a new caliber of players.

As far as his plans for the future, Seth is looking to join a new junior team, one with better competition to help him get more recognition.

“I plan on upgrading and playing on a local JR team. Either Huskies or Wildcats. I’m trying with both teams to see which will be the best fit for me.”
