Dominique Dheilly may only be entering grade 11, but his list of accolades runs deep. A standout receiver for the CFC50 ranked Leboldus Golden Suns in Regina (RIFL), Dheilly will look to build upon his magnificent sophomore season.

Dominique will enter his grade 11 year with two city and two provincial championships on his resume. The Suns are a perennial powerhouse in the prairies and are looking to win their 6th consecutive Regina city championship as well as 6th consecutive SSSAD 4A provincial championship. Dheilly will play a large role in Leboldus’ offense next season, along with CFC100 QB Josh Donnelly. The two formed a lethal duo last season, and will aim to continue developing their chemistry along the way this season.

“Following up on our 5-peat with a six time City Championship and six time Provincial championship” is what Dheilly is looking forward to next season.

Dominique is already drawing attention from coaches across Canada, and will no question be a big time recruit by the time the fall of 2019 rolls around. Dheilly credits his two older brothers, Nicholas and Noah for getting him into football. Both of whom will be suiting up for the University of Regina Rams this season.

Whether that influences Dominique’s commitment will have to be seen. The star WR is “enjoying the process” and is looking to picking the best school for him. Wherever Dheilly ends up, he figures to be an impact player down the road.

“I look forward to the next step and choosing the right school will be a big factor of where I end up playing football,” he said.

Dominique lists John Foord, head coach of Leboldus, as a influential person in his life. Foord who will be returning to lead the Suns for his 12th season, has been a key cog to their success in Saskatchewan year after year. Foord, who is no stranger to talented players, will undoubtedly be able to assist Dominique if he needs any guidance when it comes to his looming recruitment.

When asked about a potential pro comparison, Dominique listed Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers. Both are big bodied receivers, who have a great ability to high point the football and come down with difficult grabs.

Dheilly suited up for Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canada Cup in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, alongside his high school teammate and quarterback Josh Donnelly. The tandem will be counted on early and often for Saskatchewan as they look to return to the championship game for the second straight year.

“Football has always been a large part of my life, and it drives me to better” notes Dheilly, when asked about what the sport means to him. Dominque plans on spending the off-season training and improving himself as a football player in an attempt to crack a U Sports roster come 2019.

All eyes in Saskatchewan this fall will be glued on Dominique Dheilly as he looks to continue the Sun’s dynasty in the prairies.
