RECAP: CFC 100 Chenard & St.Amant steer CNDF to victory, Joseph & Lussier-Roy valiant in loss

This past weekend, Notre-Dame de Foy (CNDF) unseated defending champions Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars 33-25 in CEGEP Division 1 action.

Alexis Cote scored two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing) and rushed for 125 yards on 13 carries for the Cougars.Ā  Additionally, Simon Laplante tallied a major and had 75 yards on six receptions.Ā  Luca Perrier also rushed into the end zone once for the victors.

CFC 100 pivot Samuel Chenard completed 21 passes in 31 attempts for 275 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns. David Cote added four PATā€™s.

Louis Philippe St.Amant

On defense, CFC 100 Louis-Philippe St.Amant led the way with 6.5 tackles.Ā  Alexandre Hardy and Christophe Bouchard each caught an interception in the win.

As for the Cougars, CFC 100 Cedric Joseph tallied two majors (one rushing, one passing) and rushed for 215 yards on 22 carries. Guillaume Conraud-Ares also scored a touchdown and racked up 91 yards on two catches.

Michael Arruda completed 15 passes in 30 attempts for 260 yards and two passing touchdowns in the loss.

CFC 100 Cedric Lussier-Roy as well as Smith Leandre each registered 6.5 tackles to lead the defense in spite of the loss.

VANIER CHEETAHS 29, EDOUARD-MONTPETIT LYNX 18:

At Edouard Montpetit, Yutthakaneleuth Insixiengmay tallied a major and rushed for 102 yards on 20 carries as the Vanier Cheetahs remain undefeated after a 29-18 victory over Edouard-Montpetit Lynx.

Qaysie Gordon-Maule, Mathieu Bradley and Kevin Etienne each scored a touchdown for the Cheetahs.

Cullen Tennant completed eight passes in 14 attempts for 146 yards and two passing touchdowns. Brandon Fombuena was successful on three conversion attempts.

Kean Harelimana led the Cheetahs defense as he caught an interception, recorded a sack and registered 4.5 tackles.Ā  CFC 100 Francois Hamel also recorded a sack, caught an interception and racked up four tackles. Jersey Henry also had a sack in the victory.

Stephane Thouin scored two touchdowns and amassed 104 yards on two catches (average of 52 yards per reception) for the Lynx.Ā Ā  Tomas Concilio added two PATā€™s.

Rossini Sandjong Djabome recorded a sack and registered 5.5 tackles to lead the Lynxā€™s defense.Ā  Jeremy De Villiers-Riel also added 5.5 tackles. Louis-Jean Guimond recorded a sack and had five tackles.Ā  Moreover, Pierre-Olivier Laurendeau caught an interception while Mathieu Rioux-Paquette recorded a sack in the loss.

VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 18, MONTMORENCY NOMADES 11:

At Montmorency, CFC 100 Louis-Mathieu Normandin scored two touchdowns as Vieux-Montreal Spartiates earned their first win of the season, 18-11 over the Montmorency Nomades.

CFC 100 Mike Brian Lusikila rushed for 93 yards in the win.

Allan Lambert was a beast on the Spartiates defense as he racked up 12 tackles.Ā  Enock Makonzo chipped in with eight tackles while Jason Hovington caught an interception.

As for the Nomades, Gregory Joseph Jean recorded a sack and registered 10 tackles.Ā  Omba Dimanche-likuwa added a sack and nine tackles.Ā  Xavier Prevost chipped in with nine tackles in the loss.

LEVIS LAUZON FAUCONS 33, FX-GARNEAU ELANS 29:

At Levis-Lauzon, Alexandre Gagnon completed 33 passes in 47 attempts for 365 yards and two passing touchdowns as the Levis-Lauzon Faucons squeaked by the FX-Garneau Elans 33-29.

Antoine Mailhot scored two touchdowns and amassed 120 yards on eight catches.Ā  Jonathan Breton Robert tallied two majors (one rushing, one passing) and had 119 yards on 12 catches in the win. Louis Charles Moisin was successful on four conversion attempts.

On defense, Olivier Dionne registered 7.5 tackles to lead the way.Ā  Jean-Philippe Levesque recorded a sack and added seven tackles.Ā  Jeremie Verreault also had a sack in the win.

Charles Martel, Vincent Gelinas, Alexandre Morgan-Zaor and William Tremblay-Harnois each tallied a major for the Elans.

Pivot Guillaume Dumas completed 21 passes in 40 attempts for 335 yards and three passing touchdowns in the loss.Ā  Pierre-Olivier Denault has 146 yards on six catches.Ā  William Pettersen added two PATā€™s.

Nicolas Viens had eight tackles for the Elans.Ā  Philippe Ouellet added six tackles while Laurence Poirier-Viens caught an interception and registered 5.5 tackles.
