RECAP: CFC 100 Parent, Normandin, Betts, Ouellet & St-Amant have notable performances in week of upsets

The Montmorency Nomades have done something that no other team has been able to do this season in CEGEP Division 1.

Last Saturday, the Nomades handed the Vanier Cheetahs their first loss of the season in front of the home crowd by earning a 38-19 victory.

CFC 100 Gabriel Parent led the way for the Nomades as he scored two touchdowns and rushed for 192 yards on 36 carries.  Tristan Fiske-Casault tallied two majors and had 46 yards on two receptions. David Rompre added four PAT’s.

Pivot Zachary Cloutier completed eight passes in 14 attempts for 128 yards and a passing touchdown in the victory.

Jordan Presseault recorded three sacks while Faheen Andy Jean-Pierre caught an interception and recorded a sack to lead the Nomades defense.  Jordanson Alexis registered 4.5 tackles while Gregory Joseph Jean and Omba Dimanche-Likuwa each recorded a sack in the victory.

For the Cheetahs, Benedicte Cayo caught an interception and converted it into a touchdown score.  Additionally, Qaysie Gordon-Maule tallied a major and rushed for 94 yards on eight carries.

Brian Harelimana led the defense with eight tackles while CFC 100 Francois Hamel added six tackles. Zack Fitzgerald and Jizreel Botat each caught an interception while Bill Aziz recorded a sack in the loss.

Louis Mathieu Normandin Week 4 CEGEP

VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 38, EDOUARD-MONTPETIT LYNX 3:

At Edouard-Montpetit, CFC 100 Louis-Mathieu Normandin tallied two majors as the Vieux-Montreal Spartiates cruised to a 38-3 victory over hosts Edouard-Montpetit Lynx.

Joel Soucy scored two touchdowns and amassed 124 yards on three receptions for the Spartiates.  Julien Bourassa added a major.  Edouard Montemiglio rushed for 128 yards on 24 carries in the victory. Luis Amaruso added four PAT’s.

Pivot Frederic Paquette-Perrault completed 16 passes in 30 attempts for 338 yards and four passing touchdowns.

CFC 100 Mathieu Betts led the Spartiates defense as he recorded a sack and registered 8.5 tackles. Allan Lambert and Tchaly Wendly Dimanche each caught an interception.

For the Lynx, Jean-Guy Rimpel rushed for 149 yards on 28 carries.  On defense, Louis-Jean Guimond, Pierre-Olivier Laurendeau and Rossini Sandjong Djabome each racked up eight tackles. Additionally, Laurendeau, Mardochee Moba and Diego Cacheiro-Millette each recorded a sack.

Marc-Antoine Pivin versus FX-Garneau

FX-GARNEAU ELANS 20, CHAMPLAIN-LENNOXVILLE COUGARS 16:

At Coulter Field, CFC 100 Marc-Antoine Ouellet caught an interception and converted it into a touchdown score as FX-Garneau Elans got past Champlain-Lennnoxville Cougars 20-16.

Mathieu Soucy also tallied a major for the Elans.  William Pettersen added two PAT’s.

As for the Elans defense, Philippe Ouellet led the way with eight tackles.  Pettersen caught an interception and recorded a sack in the victory.

Samuel Brodrique led the Cougars with seven tackles.  Additionally, CFC 100 Frederik Robitaille recorded two sacks while CFC 100 Cedric Lussier-Roy and Kevin Dossou added a sack.  Adam Auclair, Alexandre Lebreton and Dayvon Love each caught an interception in the loss.

Louis-Philippe St-Amant

LEVIS-LAUZON FAUCONS 39, NOTRE DAME DE FOY (CNDF) 35:

At Levis Lauzon, Olivier Fillion tallied a major and rushed for 211 yards on 38 carries as Levis-Lauzon Faucons edged Notre-Dame de Foy (CNDF) for an 39-35 upset victory.

Francis Bois, Jonathan Breton Robert, Francis Laberge and Antoine Mailhot each scored a touchdown for the Faucons.  Louis-Charles Moisan added five PAT’s in the win.

Pivot Alexandre Gagnon completed 15 passes in 30 attempts for 147 yards and two passing touchdowns.

On defense, Raphael Faucher recorded a sack and registered seven tackles.  Jean Philippe Levesque also racked up seven tackles for the Faucons.

As for CNDF, Alexis Cote scored two touchdowns.  Simon Laplante tallied a major and racked up 146 yards on six receptions.  Chadrick Tchanga Henry also added a touchdown in the loss while David Cote added three PAT’s.

CFC 100 Louis-Philippe St-Amant was a beast on defense as he registered 13 tackles.   Christophe Bouchard caught two interceptions while Jean-Philippe Hudon caught an interception and recorded a sack. Xavier Bilodeau and Samuel Miranda-Bizeau each added a sack while Marc-Olivier Simard caught an interception.  Cedric Vaillancourt added nine tackles.
