Anthony began playing flag football when he was in grade four.  He would make the gradual move to Kinsman tackle football and spent three seasons there (grade six-nine).

The wide receiver has suited up for the Holy Cross Crusaders of the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA).  This past season, Anthony experienced a special gridiron moment.

“Winning the Saskatoon City Championship with the Holy Cross Crusaders in 2013,” recalls Anthony.

For continued gridiron success, the Crusaders offensive standout trains hard day in and day out.

“I don’t necessarily have a specific training regiment,” describes Anthony, who also plays basketball with Saskatoon Slam as well as the Crusaders.   “I just eat healthy stay active by playing basketball and football and working out a couple of times a week.”

Throughout his career, the Saskatoon receiver has been fortunate to have a few individuals who have been main sources of encouragement and motivation.

“My most positive influence in my life is my parents because they encourage me in any and all of my activities,” expresses Anthony.  “In football, my high school Head Coach Scott Hundseth is the most influential person because he gives me the chance to play the sport I love at a high level.”

With graduation less than a year away, Anthony is already looking ahead to life after high school.  He would like to continue playing football for as long as possible while pursuing a career in the medical field.  Additionally, he would like to eventually become a football coach as well.

As for where he will pursue his academic and gridiron pursuits, the Crusaders receiver has not committed anywhere as of yet.  However, he is considering the University of Saskatchewan.

While he has been satisfied with the recruitment process, he would like to see some more action in the coming months.

“The recruitment process has been good for me,” reflects Anthony.  “I haven’t been recruited by any universities yet but I hope to be recruited after this upcoming high school season.”

Overall, the Saskatoon standout has learned how to achieve success in all his endeavours due to the game.

“During my years of playing football, I’ve learned that working together as a team you can achieve a whole lot more than working individually,” says Anthony.  “Because football is a team sport.”
