What do coaches want in a linebacker?
Linebackers are the most well-rounded athletes on the gridiron. They have to stop the run, help in pass coverage, rush the passer and, in most cases, lead the defensive unit.
The only other position that could come close to matching linebackers are running backs but they have little to do with the leadership of the offence ā the quarterback takes that off their hands.
