Recruiting Wrap: OUA finds five more commits as recruiting winds down

DB Yohan Tshimbalanga

Yohan Tshimbalanga is staying home in Hamilton, Ontario to play for the McMaster Marauders.

Tshimbalanga is a 5’10”, 160 lb defensive back for Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School. He also played in the Ontario Provincial Football League for the Hamilton Varsity Tigercats.

 

REC Joshua Macleod

Joshua Macleod is one of the two newest commits for the Queen’s Gaels.

Macleod is a 6’3″ receiver for St. Thomas More School in Connecticut.

“I committed to Queen’s because I wanted to be a part of something special academically and athletically,” says Macleod. “I was impressed by the elite coaching staff and related strongly to the expectations and level of dedication each person in the program has.”

 

DB Ashton Miller-Melancon

Ashton Miller-Melancon is making the trip from Quebec to Kingston, Ontario to join the Gaels as the team’s latest commit.

Miller-Melancon is 6’2″, 195 lb defensive back for John Abbott College in Sainte Anne de Bellevue, Quebec.

“I chose Queen’s because I will get a great education, I have a great relationship with the coaching staff, the culture of the football team is second to none and Queen’s just felt like home from the moment my recruiting process began,” explains Miller-Melancon.

 

DB Josh Flindall

Josh Flindall is the fourth defensive back to commit to the Waterloo Warriors this recruiting season.

Flindall measures at 6’0″, 160 lbs and plays for Eastview Secondary School and the Huronia Stallions in Orillia, Ontario.

“I chose Waterloo because of the education and co-op programs they offer as well as the football program,” says Flindall. “[Waterloo] has turned the tables from being an underdog team to a competitor for the Yate’s Cup.”

 

QB Josiah Bowman

Josiah Bowman is the second quarterback to find his way in the York Lions’ 2021 recruiting class.

Bowman is 6’4″, 200 lbs and plays for West Toronto Prep. He’s from North York, Ontario.
