CFC150 WR Luke Yakemchuk – Alberta Golden Bears

The University of Alberta Golden Bears have made a new signing. Wide receiver Luke Yakemchuk is the latest recruit to sign with the U of A.

Luke grew up in Sexsmith, Alberta where he played high school ball for Sexsmith Secondary.

Luke Yakemchuk weighs in at 5’10, 160lbs. He committed to the University of Alberta on December 18th, 2020.

WR Ronan Horrall – UBC Thunderbirds

The University of British Columbia has brought in a new recruit to their roster. Ronan Horrall is the latest signing for the west coast team.

The 6’2, 180lbs wide receiver comes to B.C from Ottawa where he played for Franco Cite (NCSSAA).

On December 12, 2020 Ronan Horrall became the newest member of the UBC Thunderbirds.

CFC100 WR Adley Mayala – Calgary Dinos

The University of Calgary is pleased to welcome another local recruit in Calgarian Adley Mayala, who will suit up for the Dinos in 2021.

Adley spent the last four years at Bishop O’Byrne (CSHSAA). At 5’11, 165lbs Adley suits up at slot receiver and signed with the University of Calgary on December 10th, 2020.

OL Darren Baker – Calgary Dinos

The Calgary Dinos have added another piece to their offensive line. Lineman Darren Baker will make the move from North Vancouver to Calgary in 2021.

Darren began his career in the Gordon Sturtridge Football League (GSL). He spent one year with the Westside Warriors (VMFL), and just finished his high school at Windsor Secondary School (BCSSFA).

The big lineman chose the University of Calgary because they have had huge success over the years and a winning mentality. “I was also impressed talking to coach Sheahan and Coach Harris,” he says. “It is away from home, but not too far.”

Darren Baker stands at 6’5, 290lbs. He committed to the Calgary Dinos on December 20, 2020.

OG Halem Hrizai – Manitoba Bisons

The University of Manitoba has announced a new addition to their team. The Bisons have signed Halem Hrizai from the Westshore Rebels (CJFL) in B.C.

Halem grew up in Winnipeg. He has played for the Transcona Nationals (MMFA), Murdoch Mackay Clansmen (WHSFL), was red shirted a year for the University of Regina, and he spent last season with the Westshore Rebels (CJFL).

“I chose U of M because of the coaching staff and the offer they gave me,” he replied. “Coach Dobie and I had great conversations together along with him is Coach Karhut, which him and I clicked right away, we totally get each-other and I think working together will be huge for the football team. Being at home is a huge plus as well having all the family and friends be able to come watch you play. Just something so great about that.”

Halem will be enrolling in the Faculty of Education. His goal is to be a high school teacher.

Halem Hrizai is a 6’4, 300lbs offensive guard. He joined the Heard December 10, 2020.

DL Seth McDonald – Manitoba Bisons

The University of Manitoba has signed another Manitoban to their roster. Seth McDonald will join the Bisons after completing his high school at Miles Mac as a member of the Buckeyes (WHSFL).

At 6’2, 225lbs Seth will join the defensive line.

On December 10, 2020 Seth McDonald signed with the Manitoba Bisons.

OL Hayden Piche – Manitoba Bisons

The Manitoba Bisons have landed their third local recruit in the latest singing spree. Offensive lineman Hayden Piche has agreed to join the team.

Hayden was on the St. Paul’s Crusaders (WHSFL) before he became a member of the Heard.

Hayden Piche weighs in at 6’2, 290lbs. He agreed to terms with the Bisons on December 10, 2020.

WR Ethan Kiefer – Regina Rams

The University of Regina has brought in a wide receiver with their newest recruit. Ethan Kiefer is the latest addition to the Rams.

Ethan grew up in Regina. He was a member of the Miller Marauders (RIFL). He has also played for the South Saskatchewan Selects in the past.

“I chose U of R because I am close to my family,” he says.

Ethan weighs in at 6’1, 170lbs and agreed to terms with the University of Regina Rams on November 4th.

The Regina Rams welcome a new defensive back to the team. The Miller Marauder’s (RIFL) Connor Sombach has signed with the local squad.

Connor is 5’9, 170lbs and signed with the University of Regina Rams on December 9th, 2020.

DB Rylar Sombach – Regina Rams

The University of Regina didn’t have to look far for their latest signing. Rylar Sombach is one of the new faces that will be joining the Rams in 2021.

Rylar played high school football for the Miller Marauders (RIFL). At 5’9, 175lbs Rylar suits up at defensive back.

On December 9, 2020 Rylar Sombach agreed to join the Regina Rams.

DT Austin Van De Sype – Regina Rams

The University of Regina Rams have landed another local recruit. Defensive tackle Austin Van De Sype will wear the green and gold in 2021.

Austin is one of many recruits to join the University of Regina from the Miller Marauders (RIFL).

Austin Van De Sype is 6’2, 290lbs. He committed to the University of Regina on December 9th, 2020.
