Game two: Red River Cup
About a minute into the game, Tyler Kuzβs first pass attempt was intercepted by #35 Ben
Mikoluff and returned for a touchdown. At the 18 minute mark, Kuz threw another
interception, picked off by #34 Brock Letkeman.
With just 3 minutes left in the half, Kuz redeemed himself by calling his own number and
making a one yard plunge for a touchdown. The convert was blocked and the half ended
with a score of 6‐9.
A strong defensive second half didnβt allow for much scoring. #93 Keenan Fonseca
blocked Westmanβs punt at the 18 minute mark, but the offence couldnβt put the ball in
the end zone.
With five minutes remaining in the second half, #80 Cameron Duplin made a huge catch
and was met by a bone‐crushing hit by Westmanβs Matt Mitchler. That play set up an
easy TD run by Brady Urbanovich, bringing the score to 19‐6 for Winnipeg East.
