Red River Cup: Nova Scotia shuts out team Westman

Nova Scotia found themselves in Westman territory early in the game and capitalized on
the excellent field position with a 4 yard plunge by running back # 42 Dustin Brogaard
for an early 7‐0 lead. A fumble on the following kickoff put Nova Scotia back in
Westman territory. Brogaard took advantage of the field position once again with the
major.

A big 30 yard punt return by #21 David Nisbet put Nova Scotia into enemy territory
again within the 2 minute mark of the first half. He finished it off by scampering 18
yards to the end zone. Westman remained scoreless at the half.
Strong defence held Nova Scotia out of Westman’s end for much of the second half. In
an interesting twist, Westman QB Ty Kuz went back to receive the punt and kicked the
ball back into Nova Scotia territory. Westman retrieved the kick, but lost the ball due to
a penalty for too many men.

Though they spent much of the second half in Nova Scotia territory, Westman was
unable to score. The final score was 21 – 0 for Nova Scotia.
