Red River Cup: Thunder Bay and team Westman compete in most exciting scoreless game ever

In a game dominated by the defence, both teams fought valiantly. Thunder Bay’s first possession threatened Westman territory, but #5 Matt Mitchler intercepted a Dillan Tataryn pass intended for Liam Fors. Thunder Bay threatened again at the end of the half, but the defence came up big again by stuffing Tataryn who called his own number on the sneak. Matt Mitchler got his second interception with 22 seconds left in the first half.

Matt Mitchler continued his defensive dominance by recovering a fumble in Thunder Bay territory early in the 2nd half. This set up a 26 yard field goal that went wide left. Thunder Bay began using its ground attack near the end of the game and as time was expiring they elected to punt from the opposing 35 yard line. This was fielded by QB Ty Kuz in his own end zone. He kicked it out of the end zone to seal the tie in a
scoreless game.
