Highlights : Running back Rotrand Sené is the RSEQ offensive player of the week for his 111-yard, one touchdown performance Saturday in Montreal’s 17-12 win over the no. 1 ranked Laval Rouge et Or. The win snapped Laval’s 18-game winning streak thus preventing the Rouge et Or from tying their own RSEQ and CIS record.
Sené, a third year arts and science student from Montreal, carried the ball 22-times including a game-winning 13-yard scamper into the end zone with 56-seconds remaining in regulation time to give the Montrealers the come-from-behind win. He also accounted for six of Montreal’s nine first downs via the run.

Highlights: Fourth year defensive lineman Jonathan Pierre-Étienne of the Montreal Carabins is the RSEQ defensive player of the week. Facing the most vaunted attack in the conference, the 6-3, 250-pound native of Montreal recorded 12 solo tackles, four assists and set a school record with 4.5 quarterback sacks in the Carabins 17-12 victory over the previously undefeated Laval Rouge et Or.
It was the second best single-game performance in RSEQ history, just a half-sack shy of McGill’s Jason Manzano benchmark set in 2003. The fourth year law student also forced a fumble that led to Montreal’s second field goal. The former fifth round pick of the BC Lions has 7.5 sacks on the season and needs 4.5 to surpass Leroy Blugh for the RSEQ and CIS record for most quarterback sacks in a single season with 12.

Highlights : Concordia kick return specialist Kris Robertson earns the nod for the RSEQ special teams player of the week after tying a conference record with 214 punt return yards in the Stingers 39-16 win over the McGill Redmen on Saturday in the 25th annual Shrine Bowl.
The 5-7, 183 pound halfback from Pickering, Ont., had a pair of 60-plus yard punt returns and brought the crowd of 2,015 to its feet 1:29 into the third quarter as he returned a Tomas Silva punt 69-yards to the house to give Concordia a 26-11 advantage. The third year sociology finished the game with 266-yards in returns after running back a McGill kickoff 52-yards late in the second quarter to set up a field goal.
