Rouge et Or blessing (VIDEO)

Ottawa wide receiver commits to Vanier Cup Champions

It’s a blessing for Tyrone Pierre.

The 6’3, 200 pound wide receiver from Ottawa, Ontario recently committed to the Vanier Cup Champions Laval Rouge et Or for the 2014 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, Pierre instantaneously found a connection with the Rouge et Or on several different levels which became the decisive factor in his decision.

β€œI chose Laval, because it’s obviously always been one of my top choices as far as university,” explained Pierre of his decision.Β  β€œIt is a blessing for me to say I found myself a great home for the next four to five years in Laval.”

β€œThe coaches are just amazing and were very honest, as well as caring. They showed that they really care for their student-athletes and I really felt a connection on my visit. They are a top ranked football program and also one of the top academically, it’s a perfect fit! I’m glad to be a part of the Rouge et Or.”

Pierre completed his high school career with St. Peter Knights of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA). Not only is he a wide receiver, but he has also played at the slotback position and has played a significant role in special teams as a return specialist.

Additionally, the offensive standout has suited up for the Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and the Ottawa Sooners of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).
