RSEQ Juvenile 1 Week 5: CFC#3 Cactus invincible, CFC#9 Blizzard keep pace

College Notre Dame Cactus is unstoppable thus far this season.

This past weekend, the CFC#3 Cactus crushed Roger Comtois 42-7 to keep their unbeaten record intact this season.  The Cactus led the RSEQ Juvenile 1 Division with a 5-0 mark.

Running back Francois Rocheleau scored three majors (two rushing, one receiving) and rushed for 220 yards on 10 carries (average of 22 yards per carry) to lead the Cactus.  Joel Bouchard also ran into to the end zone for the victors.

Bruno Legace led the defense with eight tackles (five solo, six assisted) while Arthur Loth-Pierre chipped in 7.5 tackles (five solo, five assisted).  Additionally, Marc Mfoula and Guillaume Beland each caught while an interception while Julien Le Guehennec recorded a sack in the game.

Jonathan Bradet scored the lone major for Roger Comtois.  Anthony Mennesson led the team’s defense by registering 6.5 tackles (five solo, three assisted).

Roger Comtois are now 1-5 this season.

Here are results from the other games this past weekend in RSEQ Juvenile 1:

SEMINAIRE SAINT-FRANCOIS BLIZZARD 37, TRIOLET HARFANGS 17:

William Vermette scored two touchdowns to lead CFC#9 Semaire-Saint-Francois Blizzard to a 37-17 win over the Triolet Harfangs.

The Blizzard is in second place in RSEQ Juvenile 1 Division with a 4-1 record. Meanwhile, the Harfangs are still looking for their first win of the season as the team is 0-5.

Philippe Bellrose and Patrck Tight also tallied majors for the Blizzard.  Quarterback Benoir Side had 14 completions in 23 attempts for 203 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one interception.

On defense, Olivier Flemish registered six tackles (four solo, four assisted) and recorded a sack for the Blizzard.  Sean Side recorded two sacks and Cedric Theriault added one sack while Thomas Schooner caught an interception.

As for the Harfangs, Carius Michaud (131 receiving yards) and Maxime Bouffard each scored touchdowns.  Jean-Simon Gouin-Vermette had 159 rushing yards in the game.

Dominic Brazeau accumulated 9.5 sacks (seven solo, five assisted) and recorded two sacks to lead the Harfangs defense.  Tristan Nkoghe also caught an interception.

COLLEGE JEAN-EUDES EAGLES 49, JACQUES-ROUSSEAU 9:

Philippe Seveno and Dean Dalaroy combined for six touchdowns to lead CFC TOP 50 College Jean-Eudes Eagles to a 49-9 trouncing of Jacques-Rousseau.

Seveno scored four majors and rushed for 119 yards while Dalaroy scored two touchdowns and rushed for 146 yards on 15 carries.  Shawn Lafortune added a touchdown reception and accumulated 104 receiving yards in the victory.

Eagles quarterback Zacharie Quiviger had 21 completions in 28 attempts for 254 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.

On defense, Felix Wang registered 6.5 tackles (five solo, three assisted) while Xavier Roche-Garon recorded a sack for the Eagles.

With the win, the Eagles are tied for second with a 4-1 record.

Running back Yakim Sarrazin scored the lone touchdown and rushed for 167 rushing yards for Jacques-Rousseau.  Jahson Lafontant-Denis registered 8.5 tackles (five solo, seven assisted) is a losing cause.

Jacques-Rousseau is still winless this season with a 0-5 record.

CURE-ANTOINE LABELLE WOLVES 35, SAINT JEAN EUDES CONDORS 14:

In a battle of two CFC TOP 50 teams, Samuel Makwanda tallied three majors and rushed for 214 yards to lead Cure-Antoine Labelle Wolves to a 35-14 win over Saint Jean Eudes Condors.

Nicolas Dionne and Olivier Grenier also scored touchdowns for the Wolves.  Kean Harelimana was a beast on defense as he registered 14 tackles (12 solo and two assisted).  Xavier Angers-Gauthier caught two interceptions while Darrem Wiltshite added one.

After this game, both the Wolves and Condors have identical 3-2 records.

For the Condors, Charles-Eric Bernier-Cloutier scored a major while quarterback David Pelletier threw three interceptions in the game.

ACADEMIE ST.LOUIS ARSENAL 34, ACADEMIE LES ESTACADES 8:

In the second battle of Week 5 between two CFC TOP 50 teams, running back Philippe Lessard-Vezina scored three touchdowns and rushed for 171 yards on 14 carries (an average of 12.2 yards per carry) to lead Academie St.Louis Arsenal to a 34-8 victory over Academie Les Estacades.

Mathieu Simard also tallied a major while quarterback Zachary Cloutier had 13 completions in 20 attempts for 195 passing yards and a passing touchdown.

Keven Porlier registered eight tackles (six solo, four assisted) while Jeremie Verreault recorded a sack.  Additionally, Jean-Raphael Ouellet, Thomas Gagnon and Christophe Bouchard each caught interceptions for the Arsenal.

As for Les Estacades, Melvin Piche score the lone touchdown and rushed for 111 yards on nine carries (average of 12.3 yards per carry).  Pivot William Garceau threw three interceptions in the game.

Tchad Ayotte had 9.5 tackles (eight solo, three assisted) and Alec Beliveau caught an interception to lead Les Estacades defense in a losing cause.

The Arsenal are now 3-2 on the season while Les Estacades slip to 2-3.
