RSEQ signs 2-year broadcasting deal with Radio-Canada

RSEQ (RΓ©seau du sport Γ©tudiant du QuΓ©bec) and the french language service of the CBC (Radio-Canada) are pleased to announce the signing of a new two-year broadcasting agreement that gives Radio-Canada exclusive rights to carry RSEQ university football through the end of the 2012 season.

Radio-Canada will present nine regular season games as well as a pair of RSEQ playoff games, including one league semifinal and the Dunsmore Cup championship. All games will air live Saturdays at 1 p.m. ET.

The 2011 broadcast schedule starts on September 3 when the Laval Rouge et Or travel to Concordia University to face the Stingers.

Once again this year, an inter-conference match is on the schedule, when the University of Montreal Carabins host the Saint Mary’s University Huskies on September 17. Both of games of the hotly contested rivalry between the Carabins and the Laval Rouge et Or are on the program, September 10 and October 8.

RSEQ will once again employ a flexible broadcast schedule in the ninth week of the regular season, affording Radio-Canada the opportunity to broadcast the game with the greatest impact on the playoffs.

Radio-Canada will bring fans even more content this season, adding a full 10-minute pre-game show as well as full half-time and post-game coverage of the RSEQ. In certain local markets, Radio-Canada will be producing a 30-minute extended pre-game show at 12:30 ET. Check your local listings for dates and availability in your area.

Returning for his third season as the play-by-play voice of RSEQ university football is veteran Radio-Canada announcer Jean Saint-Onge who will once again be joined in the booth by colour commentator Jacques β€˜The Coach’ Dussault. Sideline reporter Antoine Deshaies also returns to the broadcast team, while Marc Durand joins the on-air crew as the pre-game, half-time and post-game host. Durand will be joined by a special analyst each week.

RSEQ university football on Radio-Canada will continued to be produced jointly by Radio-Canada and by Pierre Durivage of Rivage Productions.

All games will be simulcast on the SRC website at Radio-Canada.ca/sports where fans can also find additional in-depth information on university football.
