SAC remains undefeated: Shuts out De La Salle Oaks

The first place Varsity Football Saints defeated De La Salle Oaks 65-0 on Saturday. Yannick Harou led the way on offence, scoring 3 tds, while Josh Smith added 2 tds, one on a spectacular punt return, the other on a long fade route. Slot back Kelsey Boland scored his first career td, while Jamal Kett added a td as well.

Of note, linebackers Matt Mardini and Chris Houston, of the famed “8,9,10” trio, each returned an interception for a score. Also on defence, safety Dylan Hewko added two interceptions, and rookie halfback, Matt Roy continued to flash his impressive ability by chipping in an interception of his own. Kicker, Alex Harris was a perfect 9 for 9 on convert attempts.

The size and strength of the Saints offensive and defensive lines, coupled with the speed and athleticism of the offensive and defensive skill players proved to be too much for De La Salle.
Next up for the Saints is a much tougher match against the arch rival, Trinity College School Bears next Saturday, October 23rd in Port Hope. The Bears have beat the Saints twice last year en-route to the CISAA championship. This year’s Saints squad has the opportunity to earn redemption and finish off a potentially undefeated regular season going into the playoffs.
