We’re beginning to see some movement across the country in our CFC50 Week 2 High School Rankings.
Everybody who was able to play in the top ten took care of business, including a pair of tight matches in Quebec featuring Saint-Jean-Eudes defeating Academie Saint-Louis 12-5, and Armand-Corbeil holding on for a 14-12 victory against College Notre-Dame. This could be the tightest race to the finish we’ve seen in Quebec for awhile with the top teams divided by the slimmest of margins.
Saskatoon kicked off their regular season with a massive clash between St. Joseph and Holy Cross, with the lower ranked St. Joseph making a leap up the table after a 13-5 victory.
New Brunswick also kicked off their regular season action this past week with the reigning champions from Tantramar coming out on top 32-0 against Fredericton.
We officially have action in Ontario as well with the Korah Colts grabbing a huge 32-17 victory against local rivals Superior Heights. Get ready for the real madness to begin next week as leagues across Ontario come to life, and British Columbia begin their regular season campaign.
Make sure to also create your CFC Profile to get featured on the website throughout the season.

Who’s getting ranked?
For the tenth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as the CFC50.
The CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is the CFC50 evaluated?
Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man rural / 6A / Schwann, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia (all teams excluding CFC25 eligible teams).
The CFC50 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
