Saskatoon defensive back signs with CWUAA team.

Ben Whiting will be carrying on a family tradition when he commences his CIS journey this fall.

Recently, the 6’2, 200 pound defensive back from Saskatoon has signed with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.Β  Whiting will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

β€œI had a lot of teams looking at me but I chose the Huskies mainly because of my grandpa,” explained Whiting of his decision.Β  β€œHe used to play back in the day and he explains it as the time of his life.”

β€œHe took me to a lot of the games when I was younger so when they offered me a scholarship it was a dream come true for me. It’s a first class program that always has a chance to compete for Vanier. I’ll be able to play in front of my family and friends which is very important to me.”

Whiting has played for Marion Graham Falcons of the Saskatoon Secondary School Athletic Directorate (SSSAD) as well as the under-18 National Team.
