The CΓ©gep du Vieux MontrΓ©al alumnus was the offensive spark in the Carabinsβ 29-8 win over the Concordia Stingers on Saturday, having racked up a total of 208 yards on offence, including 177 yards on 26 carries. Nursing a slim 14-8 lead with 3:56 remaining in regulation time, the second year Arts and Science student powered his way into the end zone from three yards out to put the game away and move les Bleus to 2-0 in conference play.

The fifth year Health and Physical Education student also recorded a knockdown in the 29-8 win.

Highlights : Bishopβs University place kicker Josh Maveety is the QUFL special teams player of the week after having a career game in the Gaitersβ 26-19 double overtime win over the McGill Redmen. The Kingston, Ont. native made all four of his field goal attempts, a career high, including two in the last seven minutes of regulation. He forced the game into double overtime with an 11-yarder from a sharp angle at the end of the first OT. The fourth year Humanities student became the first Gaiter to kick four field goals in a game since John Gal on Oct. 4, 1997. Maveety also averaged 67.7 yards on three kickoffs.
