Sherbrooke reminds WR Plourde of home

Sherbrooke adds a commit from QuΓ©bec to their Class of 2018.

Entranced by his surroundings, Philippe Plourde, a wide receiver from CΓ©gep LΓ©vis-Lauzon, won’t feel out of place when he joins the Sherbrooke Vert & Or.

When Plourde visited Sherbrooke, there was an air of familiarity with what will one day be his home. Currently living in LΓ©vis, QuΓ©bec, for school, he is a former resident of Chicoutimi in Saguenay, QuΓ©bec.

β€œFrom my first visit, I felt home there (in Sherbrooke). It looks like LΓ©vis and Saguenay and the team spirit is awesome,” Plourde said.

Standing at 6’3, 190lbs, the receiver was also impressed by who would be his future coaches. He said that the wide receiver coach, Simon Carbonneau Champeau, has an extensive football background, including a stint in the CFL, which will benefit him.

β€œI really like Coach Brent’s mentality and his play style fit me well,” Plourde added. β€œAnd finally, Head Coach Mathieu Lecompte is passionate and I know he can bring me and the team to the top!”

Currently considering the bilingual administration program, Plourde said the co-op opportunity was β€œmore than interesting.”

Before joining the Les Faucons du CΓ©gep de LΓ©vis-Lauzon (RSEQ Division 1), he played for Les Mustangs de L’odyssΓ©e Dominique-Racine in high school.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
