Sherbrooke’s Dion sets CIS career field goal record

OTTAWA (CIS) – William Dion from the University of Sherbrooke Vert & Or kicked four field goals in as many attempts on Saturday afternoon in a 48-6 road win over Concordia to up his career total to 75, a CIS football record.

The fifth-year senior from Drummondville, Que., who entered the contest tied atop the all-time list with former Calgary all-Canadian Aaron Ifield (2006-2010), set the new national standard 12 minutes and 44 seconds into the game thanks to a 30-yard kick. He added a 12-yarder in the second quarter before splitting the uprights from 15 and 11 yards out in the fourth.
