The Wolverines pulled another defensive gem out of the hat on Tuesday night, denying the Leduc StrayCats any offensive points at all while themselves striking paydirt twice to take over sole possession of first place in the Midget Tier III/IV division of the CDMFA.

Alex Wilander was the big story of this game, scoring on two long touchdown runs to put a big exclamation point on this one. Again both defenses were tough, but on this day the Wolverine offense managed to score when they needed to; and in fact came within an ace of scoring a third late in the second quarter when a long run came within just a few yards of paydirt.
Game stats are not yet available, but suffice it to say that the Wolverines again dominated this one defensively. The only points that Leduc was able to muster were actually forced by their own defense on a conceded safety by the Wolverine kicking team.
Next up is Saturday, when the Wolverines take on the Lloyd Red Dogs at St. Albert. (Note the change; this game was originally scheduled for Clarke.) Game time is 1:30 PM at Riel Field.
