Shutout in Maui (SUMMARY)

Mt. Douglas Rams kept off scoreboard by host Lunas

This past weekend in Hawaii, the defending British Columbia AAA provincial champions Mt. Douglas Rams were shutout in a game against Lahainaluna High School.

The Lunas defeated the Rams 28-0 and have shutout opponents eight times in their previous 12 games.

Marcus Davis led the Rams as he had 84 rushing yards on 11 carries as well as 34 receiving yards on two carries. Running back Julian Luis and quarterback Ashton MacKinnon both amassed 52 rushing yards.

As for the Rams defense, Christian Krause led the way as he registered nine tackles in the game.Β  Luis was also effective on the defensive side of the ball as he recorded two sacks and added five tackles. Rams defensive end James Nicholas recovered a fumble and racked up four tackles while defensive back Alec Wong registered six tackles.

However, the Rams offense were stifled by the Lunas defensive unit as the team turned over the ball twice while only being able to muster 81 yards on five completions.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
