SMU DC Danny Laramee withdraws name from Gee Gee job (Asselin named this week?)

Danny Laramee informed the University of Ottawa Gee Gee athletic department that he was withdrawing himself from consideration for their full time football head coaching position.

Danny was one of two candidates given a second interview and had this to say when asked about his decision:

“I want to thank the Ottawa coaches committee for considering me as a candidate for their head coaching position. My ultimate goal is to be a head coach in the CIS but I do not believe that this is the right fit at this time.”

Ottawa short listed 3 internal candidates (including interim head coach J.P. Asselin) and 2 external candidates including Laramee. The first round of interviews concluded Wednesday and the second round concluded Friday. Expect Ottawa to announce a new head coach this week. CFC has their money on J.P. Asselin.
