Sold on excellence

Mack Holliday

Barrie linebacker newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2014 class.

One CIS team’s goal of excellence was a pivotal selling point for an Ontario standout.

Mack Holliday is the newest Carleton Raven.  The 6’3, 225 pound linebacker from Barrie, Ontario will join the team for the 2014 OUA season.

“I chose to play football for Carleton because of the team’s commitment to excellence off and on the field,” explained Holliday of his decision.  “The coaches have programs set up to meet with players and make sure they stay on top of their studies and really do well in the classroom.”

“Also, I just felt at home at Carleton the coaches are great and all working to make the team better.”

Holliday comes to the Ravens after a successful high school campaign with Eastview Wildcats of the Georgian Bay Secondary School Athletic Association (GBSSA).  During his time there, the Ontario linebacker was named the Wildcats Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011 and also received Wildcats Defensive MVP two consecutive times (2012, 2013).

In addition to the Wildcats, Holliday also suited up for the Huronia Stallions of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

The Ravens are looking forward to having the Ontario defensive standout as part of the fold.

“We are very pleased that Mack has decided to become a Raven,” commented Ravens Defensive Coordinator Ryan Bechmanis.  “He brings great size, presence and a passion for the game of football.”

“Our coaching staff is really excited to work with him.”
