- College footballβs in full swing! Itβs getting hard to do this column because itβs gotten to the point where tons of Canadians are making impacts at the highest level of amateur football. At the receiver position so far this year, Canadians have been particularly active; Alabamaβs CFC100 WR John Metchie III has 11 catches for 146 yards and a TD through 2 weeks for the #1 ranked team in the country, Hawaiiβs CFC100 WR Nick Mardner has 13 catches for 242 yards and 2 TDs through 3 weeks, and Pittsburghβs Jared Wayne has 9 catches for 111 yards through 2 weeks (also threw a touchdown pass this weekend).Β
- Notable performers in week two of college football away from the receiver position were Penn State CFC100 DE/LB Jesse Luketa who had 4 tackles and a pick-six, Illinois CFC100 RB Chase Brown who had 7 carries for 41 yards and a TD along with 4 catches for 28 yards through the air, and West Virginia safety CFC40 Alonzo Addae who had 4 tackles, a TFL, and a PBU.
- In opening week NFL action, among the notable Canadian performers were LB Alex Singleton, who had 7 tackles for the Eagles, CFC100 WR Chase Claypool, who had 3 catches for 45 yards along with 25 yards rushing in a Steelers win over the Bills, DT Christian Covington, who had 5 tackles for the Chargers, and CFC100 CB Benjamin St-Juste, who had 4 tackles for the WFT.
- CFC100 S Jaden Victor announced his commitment to Temple this week. The 6β2β, 190lbs defensive back had many offers, including Georgia Tech, Arkansas State, and Wake Forest, before ultimately committing to the Owls.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
