- Penn State’s Canadian content had themselves a game on Saturday. CFC100 QB Christian Veilleux took over for a sick Sean Clifford mid-game and led the Nittany Lions to a convincing 28-0 win over Rutgers to the tune of 15/24 passing, 235 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 36 rushing yards; quite the debut for the true freshman. One of his TDs was a 67-yarder to CFC60 WR Malick Meiga for the first of his college career. CFC100 S Jonathan Sutherland also had his first career interception for the squad, along with 4 tackles. CFC100 WR John Metchie also had arguably his best game of the year for the Crimson Tide, helping them squeeze by Arkansas with 10 catches for 173 yards and a TD. Finally, Arkansas State CFC100 DB Melique Straker had his best game yet since transferring from Carleton, totalling 14 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a forced fumble against Georgia State.
- CFC100 DE/LB Jesse Luketa accepted his Senior Bowl invite this week. The 6’3”, 245lbs pass rusher has 48 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 0.5 sacks through 10 games this year. He becomes the first Canadian to commit to playing this year, but keep an eye out for guys like CFC100 S Sydney Brown, CFC100 OT Dontae Bull, and CFC60 DL Mo Diallo.
- In week 11 of NFL action, some of the top performers were Pittsburgh Steelers CFC100 WR Chase Claypool, who had 5 catches for 93 yards in a tight loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and Miami Dolphins CFC40 S Jevon Holland, who had 6 tackles in a win over the New York Jets. In addition, a member of his opposition, New York Jets DT Nathan Shepherd had 4 tackles and half a sack.
