  • CFC60 OT Tyrone Webber continues his tear in the recruiting world, having recently hauled in offers from Maryland and North Texas. This brings him to 5 offers. In addition, CFC100 WR Elic Ayomanor picked up an offer from Georgetown, bringing the β€˜22 prospect to 17 offers.

NCAA OFFERS

  • Super Bowl Champion TE Antony Auclair signed with the Houston Texans. The 6’6”, 255lbs tight end was a UDFA signing in 2017 out of Laval, and he’s been on the team since, having hauled in 10 catches for 84 yards. Although he was inactive for the game, Auclair is fresh off a championship and hoping to help the struggling Texans franchise.
  • Straying away from the name of this bit a little as this news actually comes from Europe, 2019 Hec Crighton-winning CFC100 QB Chris Merchant has signed with the Stockholm Mean Machines of Sweden. He’s on a bit of a European tour, as he will be going to Stockholm from the Las Rozas Black Demons of Spain, for whom he’s currently playing.

NCAA COMMITS

  • CFC100 Syracuse LB/DE Tyrell Richards has entered the transfer portal. The first ever DI product to come out of the prestigious Football North program, his role on defense increased this year for Syracuse as a redshirt junior, where had 24 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a PBU through 8 games. In 2019 he was also the Orange’s special teams MVP. He enters the transfer portal with 2 remaining years of eligibility.
  • For the second week in a row, we go international rather than strictly south of the border with our column. The CFL Global Draft took place last week and 4 punters went in the first round (all Australian). The first overall pick belonged to the BC Lions and with it they took 28-year-old punter Jake Ford out of Ouachita Baptist University (NCAA DII), who led the nation in net punting in 2018 and was formerly on the Oregon Ducks football squad.
