St. Albert lineman to resume CIS career in home province

St. Albert defensive lineman transfers to local CWUAA team.

Garrett Meek is going to continue his CIS career in his home province.

Recently, the 6’3, 285 pound defensive lineman from St. Albert, Alberta has transferred to the University of Alberta. He will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

Ultimately, it came down to a couple of simple things for Meek.

“I chose Alberta because it is close to home which is nice,” explained Meek.  “I get to play with some former high school teammates so the chemistry will be good.”

Meek has previously played for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, Edmonton Wildcats of the Prairie Football Conference in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association.
