Staying home

Windsor slotback commits to hometown CIS team.

Jordan Lee Guenther will be beginning the CIS chapter of his gridiron career in his hometown.

Recently, the 6’1, 205 pound slotback from Windsor, Ontario committed to the Windsor Lancers for the 2014 OUA season.

Not only did he like the promising direction the Lancers offense is heading towards, but there were a couple of personal reasons why he chose the team.

“I chose to commit to Windsor because I like what Coach has done with the offense,” explained Guenther of his decision.  “They put up points plain and simple and I’d like to be a part of that offense.”

“Another factor is that I’m staying home and don’t want to go away for school.  Also, my best friend (Jamal Mauldin) is committed there as well.”

Guenther joins the Lancers after playing for his high school team, Massey Mustangs of the Windsor and Essex County Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WECSSAA).  In addition to the Mustangs, he has also suited up for the Essex Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
