Kyle Stewart is a halfback who hails from St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He has played his last five seasons with his hometown team, the Silverados.

In the spring of 2015, Stewart started playing in a spring league for a team in Saint John, a move which led into his first year of playing at the provincial level, playing for New Brunswick’s Under-15 team. This past spring, Stewart played for Saint John again in the spring league, but moved up to play for New Brunswick’s Under-17 provincial team.

Stewart describes the highlight of this past season as when Team New Brunswick played against Team Nova Scotia. The first game was a blowout win for Team Nova Scotia, but in the second game Team New Brunswick fought harder and came out with the win.

Stewart has thought about going to a university in the United States once he finishes high school, where he would like to study either engineering or medicine.

To prepare for the upcoming season, Stewart is working on improving his speed, strength, agility, hands and his balance. Stewart mentioned that he is starting a program that his coach, Neil Grant, gave him to follow.

Stewart credits a lot of people for being influential in his life, including his family, friends and a couple of his teachers.

“They have pushed me to accomplish things that I never thought that I could do.”

Stewart also cites his opposing running backs as an influence, saying that he watches them.

“When I’m not on the field, I acknowledge how they play and that helps me improve my game.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
