T-Birds add 10 late additions to recruiting class including 3 transfers (video 3x)


Coach Shawn Olsen and recruiting coordinator Paul Orazetti were at it again adding 10 more recruits to bring there total class to 47. Two solid recruiting classes for the new coaching staff should pay off soon for the T-birds. Coach Olsen had this to say about the recruits:

“This brings our total number of committed UBC recruits for 2011 to 47. When the dust settles we will have right around 100 players on the roster at the start of training camp. This year’s recruits are a very diverse group that are a solid mix of youth and experience that should give us the depth that we lacked in 2010.”

Patrick Sullivan OL – Vancouver – 6’6 – 260lbs. – Patrick is a transfer student who started at OT for the Queen’s Gold Gaels 2 years ago when they won their Vanier Cup. His experience will be invaluable to our OL. Patrick will be attending Law School at UBC and has 2 remaining years of eligibility.

Vivie Bojilov LB SFU/New Westminster 6’0 220lbs.- BC’s Defensive MVP in 2009, spent the year as a redshirt at SFU and is now looking to transfer across town for the chance to win a championship. He is a fast physical and very tough. A complete LB who will challenge for playing time at the Mac or Will LB spots.

Logan McLeod OG Acadia/Mission 6’3 285lbs.-
Logan is another Transfer returning to his home province. Logan redshirted this past season at Acadia University. He was a AA provincial all-star at OL.

Pierre Lacerte Franklin High School, El Paso Texas LB 5’11 205 lbs.- Pierre was born in Quebec but has spent most of his adult life in Texas. He is a very physical undersized LB who can run sideline to sideline. Pierre turned down a number of Div. 2 scholarships to return to Canada.

Satbir Jawandha LB South Fraser Rams 6’3 225 lbs.- ultra athletic LB from South Fraser. He is raw as a football player having only played 2 years of junior football after being an outstanding soccer player for most of his life.

Keegan Carruthers (picture) LB Cumberland Panthers OVFL 6’0 215 lbs.- physical LB who was born on Vancouver Island but has spent the last 5 years in Ontario. He has represented Team Ontario for 2 years now in the Canada Cup.

Kofi Kuma-mintah DB South Fraser Rams/Butte College 6’2 210lbs.-Kofi is a phenomenal athlete who played his high school football at 6A Alonso High school in Tampa, Florida before playing RB at Butte College in California.

Andrew Darcovich REC White Rock Titans 6’2 185 lbs. – Andrew was the leading receiver from the White Rock Titans midget program.

Daniel McCutcheon REC Rick Hansen 6’1 170 lbs.-Daniel was a AA provincial All Star receiver who Rick Hansen in receiving the last 2 season.

Ryan Williams DT Kamloops Broncos 5’11 265 lbs.- 4 year starter with the Kamloops Broncos. Ryan bring energy and relentless to the DL rotation this coming season.
