MLB Tanner Duncan plays every down like it’s his last

It’s not everyday you find an ideal sized middle linebacker with both speed and toughness. With Tanner Duncan, that is exactly what you get. The 6’3, 230-pound MLB from Robert Bateman Secondary in Abbotsford, BC provides excellent awareness to go along with brute strength.

Being influenced by his brother who also played high level football, but injuries unfortunately ended his career, Tanner does what he can to make him and his father proud.

“They always push me and make my work and try my hardest every game and practice.” Duncan said.

Tanner knows he can never take a play off when controlling the middle of the defence and knows there will always be a play to make.

“As a Linebacker, you’re in almost every play and hitting someone at all times, and what gives me an edge is my strength but also my speed.” Tanner described his position.

The one player that Duncan said he tries to mimic the most was from before his time but was a huge difference maker. Duncan noted, “I model my game after Lawrence Taylor because he’s one of my favourite players in NFL history.”

Not a bad choice for a player that wants to continue his playing career for a long time.

The 2018 Graduate with a Rookie of the Year award and a Coach’s Choice award is hoping to play university football, whether it is in Canada or the USA.
