Team Alberta (Football Canada Cup) rocks CFL draft [Video 4x]

Team Alberta at the Football Canada Cup in 2007 was a special team indeed. Winning all of their games by an average score of 40-9 and blasting their way to Alberta’s sixth National Championship. However, we didn’t know how truly special it was until May 8, 2011 at the CFL Draft.

Four years later, five members of that team went in the 2011 CFL Draft, which is quite an accomplishment indeed considering that hundreds of players are eligible but only 40 get selected. Add to those five players, four more born and raised Albertans (and former Team Alberta players as well) and you have our province providing almost 20% of the players drafted that day, including three first rounders and four in the top 11 (36%).

Quite an accomplishment! Here is a list of players selected and on behalf of the football community in Alberta we would like to wish them every success at the next level.
