MontrΓ©al welcomes a local commit to their 2019 class.
Tommy Mercier, a defensive lineman from CΓ©gep Γdouard-Montpetit, is ready to be fully immersed with the atmosphere of the University of MontrΓ©al Carabins.
Hailing from Sainte-Julie, QuΓ©bec, Mercier is content with staying near his family. βI chose this school because itβs close to where I live. I also liked the vibe there when I visited. There is also the fact that I might play during my first year, which is also interesting,β he said.
He added that the coaches seem great and βtheyβre all good coaches that bring good energy.β
The 6β3, 235lbs defensive end is interested in industrial design.
Mercierβs extensive career has spanned 15 years. He has played with Les Barons de Saint-Bruno and Les Lynx d’Γdouard-Montpetit (RSEQ Division 2). In 2017, he was named as an βequipe Γ©toile dΓ©fenseβ in the RSEQ D2. The following year he won βjoueur de ligne dΓ©fensive par excellenceβ and βequipe Γ©toile defensive.β
