Team BC U18 scrimmage this friday for final spot on Football Canada Cup roster

While almost everyone in the province of British Columbia will be focused on Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins this coming Friday, 62 of the top under-18 players in this province will be passing up a chance to watch the Canucks and will instead be vying for a chance to represent BC later in July much as the Canucks are doing now.

Friday will see the 62 players named to Team BC’s most recent cut-down roster compete in a competitive scrimmage out at McLeod Stadium (58 Ave. and 214A Street) in Langley, BC – home of the BCFC’s Langley Rams. Following the scrimmage, Team BC coaching staff will confer and come to a decision on which 40 players they will take to the Football Canada Cup tournament to be held in Lethbridge, Alberta from July 9 – 15, 2011.

Those wishing to come watch the competitive scrimmage are welcome to do so.
