David Rybinski played high school football with the Melfort Comets at MUCC in Melfort, Saskatchewan. During his high school years he was named Defensive MVP of the 2006 Saskota Bowl which pits a 9-man squad from Saskatchewan against a team from North Dakota.
Upon finishing high school, Rybinski played in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) for the Regina Thunder with current Huskie and Team Canada teammate Bryce McCall. Rybinski was named the Thunderβs 2007 most outstanding defensive lineman as well as their defensive player of the year. From 2008 onwards, David has been playing at the University of Saskatchewan. During the 2009-10 season he recorded nine tackles, two sacks and one interception of 16 yards. In his first year he played in seven games, recording 16.5 tackles and two sacks. Rybinski and the rest of the Canadian defense hope to wreak havoc in the backfield for Team Canada at the 2011 IFAF World Championship in Austria.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
