OTTAWA – Team Canada has a new logo for their entry, Canada’s first ever, at the 2011 IFAF (International Federation of American Football) Senior Championship to be held in Austria in July, 2011.
Richard Munro, Chief Operating Officer for Football Canada says the logo is a strong visual which will be associated with national pride for the team.
“We want our players, coaches, fans and corporate supporters to proudly wear this logo as they support us in our quest to medal in Austria. We believe this logo will be highly popular from coast to coast,” says Munro.
Football Canada will announce its coaching staff later this month.
“Preparations are well under way to get the team ready. Larry Haylor, the head coach is just putting the finishing touches on his coaching staff and we are beginning to build a plan around upcoming selection camps,” said Rick Sowieta, high performance director for Football Canada. “We are excited about the challenge ahead.”
