Team Ontario East tryouts begin this weekend – 5 alumni named to CIS East-West Bowl roster

Team Ontario East tryouts begin this weekend for the team that will compete in this year’s Football Canada Cup. Team Ontario West had over 160 players tryout on their first week of tryouts last weekend. Five former Team Ontario East players were just announced as participants in this year’s CIS East-West Bowl. The players are:

RB Brendan Gillanders Ottawa 5-11 203 Orleans, Ont. (Team Ontario East 2007 – Tourney Offensive MVP)
OL Josh Prinsen Queen’s 6-8 303 Napanee, Ont. (Team Ontario East 2006 – tourney all-star)
LB Brett Hubbeard StFX 6-0 230 Peterborough, Ont. (Team Ontario East 2007)
LB Kyle Norris Saint Mary’s 6-3 232 Stittsville, Ont. (Team Ontario East 2006)
DB Kris Robertson Concordia 5-7 183 Pickering, Ont. (Team Ontario East 2007 – tourney all-star)

Sunday, April 22, 2012 @ Superdome Sports Center, OTTAWA 1662 Bearbrook Rd. 2-4pm
Sunday, April 22, 2012 @ University of Toronto 12noon-2pm
Registration for tryouts is one hour prior to start time. Registration will close at the start of the tryout.

Eligibility:
Players must be born in 1996 or 1995
And be residents of Ontario and members of Ontario Football

What to Wear:
Bring full equipment and proper footwear
( Jerseys: Defense dark, Offense light)
