The Experience

HEY! for those who read my first post, thankyou! The views are much appreciated.
First and foremost I would like to toss out a huge congrats to Danny Brannagan, who has just signed with the Argos! That’s awesome to see and from what I hear he had a great E-camp.
This past weekend a group of fellow teammates had the opportunity to attend a couple of the different combines that were being run. As I expected, the group of guys who participated all tested well, and had great showings during the drills as well. Luckily I was fortunate enough to participate in the Duane Forde/ Mike Gough combine on friday before the E-camp, which was one of greatest experiences so far in my career. Being around players from all over the country who all share the same passion and drive to elevate their game and separate themselves from others. As soon as I walked into the room where all the players were waiting for the day to begin, I could feel the excitement and the pressure. Having CFL coaches, scouts and fellow players watching your every move is an experience that not every player gets to be a part of. Being an underclassman, I had big eyes and once I got the first test out of the way I was having so much fun it was almost as if I forgot to be nervous for the rest of the day. The natural love and enjoyment of being around anything to do with football took over the nervous feeling I had early in the morning (thankfully). Sorry for this little tangent, but way back in my football career, someone once preached the 4 C’s needed to be a successful QB.
Cool
Calm
Collected
Confident
As much as I joke around now with that person about that, it is something I can’t help but keep in my mind everytime I’m on the field.

Anyways, I had a blast meeting other players from other teams and enjoyed watching them leave nothing but all their years of hard work on that field. For me, it was a great opportunity to get my foot in the door and I’m back into training with the wolfpac preparing for the East-West and the up-coming season. A lot has been happening over here in Ottawa with regards to our football program but I will save that for later this week.

P.S., here’s a little inside information for how me and the boys trained for our 40’s. 1. Working out 2.doing sprints, 3. Watching and learning from Rich Eisen’s perfect..perfect form…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar5nlv6ZPX0
…and here comes Jacoby Ford….

He may have run a 6.2, but the man cleans up well in that suit, not to mention he’s got the best shoes on the market.

Until next time,

Brad
