Head Coach Scott MacAulay announced today that all of 2013 Regina Thunder Coaching staff will be returning for the 2014 season. However, a few roles will be changing for the new season.
2013 Defensive Coordinator Morgan Bunce will return in a different role for the 2014 season. He and his wife Charlene are expecting their first child. With family and work commitments, Bunce has decided to take on the role as Strength and Conditioning / IT Coordinator.
Dave Jackson will move from Special Teams Coordinator to take over the role of Defensive Coordinator.
āDave brings a wealth of football knowledge to the position from his previous roles with the South Surrey Rams and Ottawa Gee Geesā, says Head Coach Scott MacAulay.
The Defensive Backfield will be coached by Brent Glen who started with the Regina Thunder as a Defensive Assistant / Recruiting Coordinator in 2013. He will be assisted by LeBoldus / Team Saskatchewan Defensive Coordinator Sheldon Gray who will become the teamās Passing Game Consultant.
Kevin Pierce will double as the teamās Running Back Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Kevin has coached at several different levels and has a Special Teams background.
Lastly ā Jay Smith, a 5 year veteran of the Regina Thunder, who last played for the University of Regina Rams and attended the CIS East West Bowl will be coming on board as an Assistant Receiver Coach and Special Teams Assistant.
