Toronto recruit headed for UBC (VIDEO)

Toronto linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

A move to the West Coast is in the cards for Luc Babin.

The 6’2, 190 pound linebacker (SAM) from Toronto, Ontario has committed to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds.  Babin will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

“I chose UBC because it is a great school and has a beautiful campus,” explained Babin of his decision. “They have great academic programs and academic help.”

“I also feel that the football program will take off under Coach [Blake] Nill and I’d love to be a part of that.”

Babin completed his high school career with Lawrence Park Panthers of the Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA). In 2014, he was named Defensive MVP as he led the team in quarterback sacks and solo tackles.

In addition to the Panthers, Babin has also suited up for the Metro Toronto Wildcats of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). He was selected as an OVFL All-Star in his rookie varsity season in 2014.
