
November 9, 2010 (HALIFAX, N.S.) – Acadia’s Scott Kelly, Graeme Richardson and Mike Rostance have been selected as the Atlantic University Sport Football Players of the Week for their respcetive performances in Acadia’s 22-14 quadruple-overtime shootout road victory over the Mount Allison Mounties in Sackville, N.B.

Receiver Scott Kelly of the Acadia Axemen is the Atlantic University Sport Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 7th, 2010. Kelly, a second year student from Moncton, NB, caught a career-high 10 passes for 111 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the fourth overtime period as the Axemen defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 22-14 in AUS semifinal play this past weekend. Acadia will now face the Saint Mary’s Huskies in this Saturday’s Subway Loney Bowl in Halifax.

Acadia defensive back Graeme Richardson is the Atlantic University Sport Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 7th, 2010. Richardson, a fourth year student-athlete from Etobicoke, ON, had a career-high three interceptions this past weekend as the Axemen defeated the host Mount Allison Mounties 22-14 in a quadruple-overtime shootout. Graeme, who had a combined 31 yards in returns on the three interceptions, also added two solo tackles in the victory.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Orillia, ON
Acadia’s Mike Rostance has been named the Atlantic University Sport Special Teams Player of the Week. Rostance, a fourth year player from Orillia, ON, returned two punts for 53 yards this past weekend and caught a 12-yard pass from Kyle Graves on a successful third down fake field goal in the fourth overtime session to give the Axemen a key first down, which eventually led to the game-winning touchdown two plays later. With the 22-14 semifinal win over Mount Allison, Acadia advances to face the first place Saint Mary’s Huskies in this week’s Subway Loney Bowl in Halifax.
