Trois-Rivieres Charles-Antoine Sinotte MVP of French Elite league (video)

Former McGill star receiver (and all-time CIS reception leader) Charles-Antoine Sinotte was named the most valuable foreign player for the French Elite football league (division 1). This may not be a surprise considering all the success that ‘CA’ has had in his career. The surprise may be because he did it at QB.

The trophy, named after legendary Quebec quarterback Chris Flynn, was given to Sinotte based on a 63% completion percentage and 24 touchdown passes to only 6 interceptions.

He played for the Grenoble Centaures along with fellow McGill alumni Anthony Lukca. Grenoble, which was elevated to Division 1 this season, dumped the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes 36 to 15 in the league semi-final. Another McGill alumni played for the argos, Jonathan Bower.

No one saw the Centaures going all the way to the final this season, a tribute to both Sinotte and Lucka’s impact.

The other nominees for the foreign player of the year were Kevin Craft (Cougars) and Fred Wells (Black Panthers).
